Here is a little of my background for you. I was born September 15, 1972 in Kansas City, MO. I grew up in Quincy, IL and attended Quincy Notre Dame High School where I was very active in band and choir. I attended Quincy College for two years, then Illinois State University for three more years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and Psychology. I have a particular interest in working with children and young adults that have been victims of abuse. Eventually I would like to obtain a Master's degree in either Counseling or Educational Administration. I am currently an administrative assistant.
I met my husband in an Internet Relay Chat channel in 1996, having sworn I would never date anyone I met on the computer. We spoke on the phone and the computer for two weeks, then I came to visit him. Three weeks later I moved to the city he lived in, and we dated for a year before we got engaged. We were married September 27, 1997. He is an amazing man, and I am blessed beyond measure to be his wife. His name is Rob, and he manages the bagpipe.com website. (Being a bagpiper and a computer geek, among other things.) We have no children, but own two great cats, domestic shorthairs named Dakoda and Sebastian, and a very sweet dog, a yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix named Isabeau.
I have been fascintaed by genealogy for a long time, but did not actively pursue it until this summer. I built on information given to me by a great aunt and various other relatives, and am really enjoying my search! When I am not working on my genealogy, I enjoy listening to music, singing, attending concerts, plays, musicals, operas, and most anything involving the arts, reading history, poetry, theology, romance novels, and fiction. Thankfully, I share several of these interests with my husband!
