Hezekiah REEDY was born on 8 Apr 1845 in Little Helton Creek,
Grayson County, VA. He died on 24 Dec 1915 in Tom's Creek, Wise County,
VA. He was buried in Edwards Cemetery, Rabbit Ridge, Dickenson County,
VA. Information for this family extracted from "Abridged History
of the Reedy's of Virginia", by Edward N. Reedy. Also from C.M. Reedy, Ironton,
OH.

Guests Station, VA.
This family resided in the Walker District of Wise County, VA. at Rush Creek,
near Clintwood in Dickenson County, and in Pike and Lothair Counties in Kentucky.
Hezekiah or "Kiah" Reedy was a farmer, school teacher, and a judge.
E.N. Reedy reports that he served under his father-in-law during the Civil
War with the 7th Virginia Vol. Co. F. Other source dispute this. James P.
Reedy reports that he served with his brother Linville in Col. Menefee's and
Capt. Bill Rose's company. The truth is that Hezekiah served with his father-in-law,
John Madison McFall, in Col. Menefee's outlaw band of marauders until they were
forced in to the Confederate Army as the 7th Confederate Cavarly Battery under
Col. Clarence Prentice. By the end of the war, the 7th was located in Johnson
County, Tennessee. Family tradition tells that Hezekiah heard of Lee's surrender
at Appomattox, and that he was so disgusted over the whole affair that he broke
his rifle over a stump and walked back home. Peter and Nancy raised a large family
of God-fearing, christian, children who were an example and a benefit to their
communities.
Daughter, Letty A. Couch reports, that he enlisted in Abingdon, Virgina, in July
of 1862 at the Washington County Courthouse. Hezekiah REEDY and Lovada DeRoney
MCFALL were married on 19 Aug 1865 in Gladesville, Wise County, VA.
Lovada DeRoney
MCFALL (daughter of John Madison MCFALL and Elizabeth M.) was born on 26
Jan 1849 in Yancey County, NC. She died on 8 Aug 1914 in Tom's Creek,
Wise County, VA. She was buried in Edwards Cemetery, Rabbit Ridge,
Dickenson County, VA. According to her son, E.N. Reedy, she was
the daughter of Captain John Madison McFall, Co. F, 7th Va Volunteers, CSA.
