203. Solomon REEDY was born on 11 Mar 1827 in Grayson County, VA. He died on 23 May 1897. !BIRTH: Family Bible; now owned by Sylvia Henderson, Rugby, VA.

!MARRIAGE:(1) Ashe County Marriage Book, Jefferson, NC. (2) Dickenson County Marriage Register #1; page 13 line 34; Clintwood, VA.

!DEATH: An entry in the Reedy Family Bible now owned by Sylvia Henderson, Rugby, VA. State that Solomon was killed in 1897.

NOTE: Solomon served in the 63rd Virginia Reg. Co. C from April 4, 1862 until 1864 where he deserted near Atlanta, GA. (National Archives, Military Service Records, Washington D.C.) When he married Ms. Cool in Dickenson County at the age of 55, his marital status was listed as divorced. What ever happened to his first wife and the children remain unknown at this time.

Solomon REEDY and Mary Sarah HANDRIDGE were married on 8 Nov 1851 in Ashe County, NC. They were divorced. Mary Sarah HANDRIDGE was born about 1833 in NC. Based on ages given on the 1860 Federal Census, Grayson County, VA. Big Meadows Post Office, Sept. 8, 1860. Dwelling # 1079. Birthplace given is North Carolina.

NOTE: It is very probable that Sarah remarried after her divorce to Solomon, although nothing more is known of her after 1870 Solomon REEDY and Mary Sarah HANDRIDGE had the following children:
