48. Michael REEDY7 was born on 15 Mar 1785 in Penn Township, Northumberland County, PA. He died on 14 Sep 1875 in Grayson County, VA. He was buried in A family cemetery near Grassy Creek. Michael was also born in Penn Township, Northumberland County, PA. He came to Virginia as a young boy with his family. He appears in many Grayson County records along with his brother's Peter and Christopher.

Michael settled in the next valley over from his brother Christopher. This valley, sometimes still referred to "Michael's Valley" is the next valley after Grassy Creek, and the road up that valley crosses the mountain and comes out near Rugby at the Corinth Church. Some of Michaels descendants still live in the valley and surrounding areas. On the 1846 - 1850 tax lists for Grayson County, Michael was taxed for 105 acres on Little Helton Creek.

Michael date of death can be found in a family bible now owned by Sylvia (Reedy) Henderson of Rugby. He is buried in an unmarked grave in an old, overgrown Reedy cemetery on the VA/NC border a fews miles east of route 16.

Michael REEDY and Rachel Sarah SPENCER were married about 1813. Rachel Sarah SPENCER (daughter of Timothy SPENCER Sr.) was born on 16 Sep 1786. Her birthdate is from E.N. Reedy, "Abridged History of the Reedy's in Virginia." No documentation is given. She died on 18 Feb 1866 in Grayson County, VA. Believed that she is the daughter of Isaac Spencer, Sr. of Grassy Creek, Ashe Co. NC. Her name appears on the dispersment of his personal property as Mrs. Michael Reedy.
