With a sad heart, I realize that the last son of my grandad Alex has left us. Of 13 children (9 boys and 4 girls) only my aunt Ora still is living. May God bless her.

A personal note from Larry:
While in Virginia Dave and I visited several of the elder REEDY family members and Jesse was one of those that we were able to visit. Dave is a grand-nephew and I am a second cousin (twice removed) to Jesse Reedy. We stopped by Jesse's home on the eve of his passing. Tho we mourn his passing and the loss to his fine family, we are happy that we were able to hear his old stories and see the twinkle in his eye that you can see in the above photo. I knew that I was in the presence of a fine ol'gentleman and I will always remember him in my quiet times. Often when sitting high in a pine tree waiting for that fine buck to appear, my mind wonders to things of much more import. And now I will have the memory of my visit with him to think on, and how lucky I was to have met a fine ol' gentleman by the name of Mr. Jesse James Reedy.

Mom and my kids ,1979.This is how we remember her, surrounded by her loving Grand-kids.

NOTE from :Larry Reedy; I'am sad to post this notice of my dear Mother's passing, however, I wanted to show you what I planned on this page looking like. Rather than post the obituary,The following appeared in the News Journal on Mother's Day 1997:

Dear Mom, We cannot send flower's, candy or cards, nor call or visit and say, "HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY, I love you,MOM."

For the first time in our lives we don't have you, Mother, to honor on this day.

It's been four months today,on the coldest day of January that we laid your body to rest.My tears have not stopped, my heart still breaks. The hurt will never go away, of loving you my Mother, my best friend.

It is a wonderful thing, a Mother. Other people can love you,but only a Mother understands you.She works for you, looks after you, worries about you, and forgives anything you do.

The only hard thing she ever does is die and leave you.

Signed: Sadly missed, your Sons and Daughters
