Josiah W. Riedy/Reedy was born 26 Febuary 1856 in Bethel Township , Lebanon County, Pennsylvania and died 25 December 1894, at the age of 38, in The Dalles, Oregon. According to newspaper accounts his body was shipped back to Bethel Township, PA to his mother and he was buried there.
The spelling of the last named must have changed on enlistment into the military, as the spelling on his enlistments papers and letters from his mother use the REEDY
version. Josiah married Minnie Albert Childs, the daughter of Washington Childs and Mary Emily Waldron. Minnie was born 26 December, 1868 in the Montana Territory and died 27, July 1915 in Portland, Oregon.
